One Love Organics also underwent a rigorous evaluation of its entire manufacturing process. The result? One Love Organics is one of only a select few in the United States to become an ECOCERT® licensed manufacturing facility for natural and organic cosmetics. To achieve licensing, One Love Organics products and manufacturing facility are evaluated for the following criteria:
1. Ingredient Approval: ECOCERT® considers the safety, sourcing, processing and manufacturing of each ingredient and any preservatives used to preserve the raw material. ECOCERT® also confirms the absence of:
x GMOs
x parabens
x phenoxyethanol
x nanoparticles
x silicon
x PEGs
x synthetic perfumes and dyes
x animal-derived ingredients (unless naturally produced
by them: milk, honey, beeswax, etc.)
2. Formula Approval: ECOCERT® reconfirms that all ingredients are approved, checks the process through which the formulation was manufactured, and determines if the required amount of natural and organic ingredients were used in the formulation according to the standard.
3. Label Approval: ECOCERT®approves all labels before printing to ensure that all ingredients are listed and that the ECOCERT® statements are in accordance to their standards.
4. Packaging Approval: All of the packaging we use at One Love Organics must be submitted to ECOCERT® to ensure environmental compliance and the use of recyclable and sustainable packaging.
5. Manufacturing Inspection: In addition to the requirements listed above, the facility must have an environmental plan in place that includes recycling, waste management, energy efficiency and transport management. An ECOCERT® Certification Officer physically inspects our manufacturing facility twice each year for the renewal of the ECOCERT® license.
