Right here on our site is the best place! Each product page contains in-depth information about that product and a link to an ingredients list. Our online blog, also offers additional information and highlights products and ingredients.
Does One Love Organics, Inc. contain numbing agents, colors or dyes?
One Love Organics does NOT add any colors, dyes, numbing agents or synthetic fragrances to our products. One Love Organics uses extremely mild cleansing agents so that we do not need to add ‘numbing chemicals’. However, it is always a good idea to take care and not get soap into your eyes.
“Fragrance” is listed on the label. Do your products contain synthetic fragrances?
No! One Love Organics uses a proprietary blend of ingredients found in nature including therapeutic essential oils, fruit and plant extracts and oils to compose our wonderful and healthy fragrances. Our natural fragrances are free of phthalates, parabens, sulfates, chemical sunscreens, petrochemicals, glycols, formaldehyde donors, PEG’s or PPG’s, DEA/TEA and 1,4 dioxanes.
Are your products hypoallergenic?
There is no defined methodology to test for allergic reactions in beauty or personal care products, nor does the FDA regulate use of the term “hypoallergenic.” Consequently, we do not position our products as hypoallergenic. A list of ingredients for each product is available on individual product information pages on this site.
Are your products non-comedogenic?
We do not use any ingredients that are known to be comedogenic. This term refers to ingredients in beauty products that clog the pores and can cause blackheads, pimples or cosmetic-related acne. We use the highest quality natural and organic ingredients instead of potentially comedogenic, non-natural ingredients like mineral oil, petrolatum, paraffin and red dyes that are commonly found in personal care products and cosmetics.
Are your products safe for pregnant women to use?
Our products are gentle and effective for all skin types. However, we recommend that any expectant mother check with her physician before changing her skin care routine with our products, or any other line of products.
Why are your products not certified organic?
Over our years of research, we have found some remarkably effective raw plant materials that are extremely beneficial for skin health that are all cold-pressed, all natural, wild crafted or biodynamic but not certified organic. Some ingredients just don’t exist in an organic form, such as Vitamin E oil, and some ingredients are not available certified organic. We purposefully chose to craft the most effective, fresh and dynamic products possible for skin health using the highest quality natural and organic ingredients we could locate without limiting ourselves only to certified organic ingredients. How long will my products stay fresh and what is the best way to store them?
We recommend you store our products in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, heat, humidity and excess moisture. We store our products in the bathroom drawer or cabinet. It is important to seal the shaker lid on your scrub and soak as excess moisture or humidity may affect the integrity of the product.For maximum effectiveness, One Love Organics products are handmade in small batches with the highest quality natural and organic ingredients so you can be assured that our products are fresh. To your skin, fresh means effective so use it within 12 months after opening to ensure maximum freshness and efficacy.
Do you test on animals and do your products contain animal-derived ingredients?
One Love Organics does NOT conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals. Some of our products do contain beeswax and/or whole milk powder which are ingredients derived from animals.
Where are One Love Organics products made?
One Love Organics products are handmade in small batches with the highest quality natural and organic ingredients on a barrier island off the coast of Georgia, called St. Simons Island.
I have specific allergies (i.e. tree nut, peanut, gluten) and/or chemical sensitivities. What products I can use?
One Love Organics products are wonderfully effective for all skin types, even sensitive skin. However, we encourage you to read and review our ingredients list on each product page to find out exactly what is in each product and to see if any of your known allergens are in our products. You are the best judge of what is safe for you and your family. If you have specific questions or concerns about product safety, allergies or ingredients, it is always best to consult with a trusted healthcare professional.We always recommend doing a patch test prior to using any product. Here’s how: Place a small amount on the inside of the wrist or inner thigh and look for a reaction. If you see any redness, stop using the product immediately. If no redness is observed, continue. Another thing to be aware of is not using too many different products so that you can identify the product causing the reaction.
I am a Vegan. What products can I use?
Our Easy Does It Gentle Foaming Cleanser, Beautiful Wisdom Scoop, Love Springs Eternal Youth Preservation Serum and New Best Friend Shammy are completely animal ingredient free.
Why do you use plastic?
We felt that it was the safest choice for the Skin Savior Waterless Multi-Balm and the Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser. We are concerned with consumer safety and did not want to package slippery or soapy ingredients in glass. The PET we use is the readily recyclable and is approved safe for food and beverage packaging by the FDA. You may click on this link for more information regarding plastics.
Does One Love Organics use water in its products?
We only use water as it is necessary to formulate our gel cleanser, Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser. To formulate our other products, water is not necessary so we removed it…completely! Why? OLO only uses ingredients that directly benefit the skin, and water isn’t one of them.Removing water from our products helps prevent risk of bacterial and fungi growth. It also reduces the number of allergic reactions caused by said growth and eliminates the need for irritating preservatives.Because OLO is 100% pure and ultra-concentrated, a little goes a long way! Our products last up to three times longer than average. Low water, high-concentration formulas are very environmentally savvy: less packaging, less consumption, less transportation.
What does cold-pressed oil mean and why is that good?
Cold pressed means that heat was not used when mechanically processing the oil. Cold pressing not only preserves the natural anti-oxidant properties of the oil, but ensures that it does not spoil and become rancid, which will have a negative effect on its skin healing properties.
How does the New Best Friend Skin Shammy work?
Microfiber cloth is able to accumulate and absorb more particles of dirt, bacteria and oil more effectively than any other known fabric due the shaper of its fibers. Unlike the rounded threads of ordinary cotton cloth, which just push dirt along the surface of the skin, the numerous wedge-shaped fibers of microfiber actually capture particles of oil, dirt and grime from your skin and pull them into the internal structure of the cloth and away from your skin. The result is a superior cleansing that eliminates the very environment (dirt, oil and grime) in which skin conditions can erupt.My New Best Friend Shammy, made from 100% Cosmetic Grade Microfiber Chamois, is much gentler and softer than a normal washcloth or muslin cloth. How often should I wash my New BFF Skin Shammy?
Wash it after each use by hand or in the machine. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not: bleach, iron, dry clean or use fabric softener. Sometimes, due to the fine nature of high tech fabrics, bacteria attracted can get embedded in the fibers and develop a musty odor. Should this happen, simply wash your shammy in a detergent specially designed for this problem-like WIN High Performance Sport Liquid Detergent.
Can men use One Love Organics products?
Absolutely. Although your guy may be rugged, his facial skin is just as sensitive as your own. Products that claim to be strong enough for a man usually have caustic, drying and abrasive ingredients like alcohol, silicone based lubricants, petroleum based skin softeners and harsh preservatives that will dry out, irritate and inflame the skin. For your man, choose products, like One Love Organics, that are simple and natural as possible to help fight inflammation and balance the skin.
Can my man use Skin Savior Waterless Multi Task Balm to shave?
That is a perfect idea. Skip the fluffy stuff loaded with synthetic foaming agents like that dry out and irritate the skin. Warm a teaspoon or more in your hands and massage the area to be shaved. Because shaving exposes a deeper layer of skin that readily absorbs what is applied, Skin Savior’s cold pressed plant oils, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids are perfect to protect and soothe the skin while shaving.
I have oily skin and/or acne. Can I use the One Love Organics Double Cleansing Method?
Absolutely! Oil is the best cleanser for oily skin. The Double Cleansing Method thoroughly removes all the dirt and grime and excess oils that can encourage bacteria and fungus ovegrowth yet at the same time, it doesn’t strip the protective mantle barrier that can lead to overproduction of sebum. Why doesn’t OLO sell toner?
The purpose of toners is to remove any residual makeup or oil form the skin. When the skin is cleansed in an effective and gentle manner, like OLO’s double cleansing method, this step is unnecessary. Toners with high alcohol content can damage the skin’s protective barrier and toners that do not have high alcohol content must contain preservatives strong enough to preserve standing water. We do recommend splashing your face with cool, pure water to tone the skin. Not only is it refreshing, it causes vasoconstriction of the vessels, brightens your complexion and makes your pores look tighter.
Why doesn’t OLO sell an eye cream?
OLO’s promise to you is to help you simplify your skin care routine and life by eliminating products that are redundant and/or unnecessary. While it is true that the skin around the eye is more delicate, the same moisturizing ingredients found in either Skin Savior Waterless Multi-Balm or Love Springs Eternal Youth Preservation Serum can treat the fine lines and dryness around your eyes just as well as they take care of the same issues anywhere else on your face.The best way to apply product to your eye area is to tap, rather than rub, using your ring finger or the Beautiful Wisdom Silver Spoon. Begin along the bone under the eye and gently tap a small amount of the product, in a clockwise motion, around and above your eye in a circle. Avoid apply too close to the eyes to avoid irritation, as products tend to “migrate” toward the eye.
What is the best way to read an ingredients label?
The label is the best place to find accurate information about a product. The FDA requires companies to list ingredients in descending order by quantity. Does One Love Organics source fair trade ingredients?
Yes! We do source a number of fair trade ingredients. In fact, our favorite source for ingredients is direct from the farm when possible to ensure the freshest product and to support farmers directly. When we are not able to work with farmers directly, we choose our suppliers carefully and ask many questions but ultimately we do rely on their assurance that ingredients are procured in a fair manner.
