When I was a little girl, I loved to sing the song “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair” from the movie South Pacific while I played in a bathtub full of suds. I even developed my own personal mantra around it “Cleanse and let go, so you can beautifully grow”.
Throughout my early life, if something or someone was troubling, I knew that I could simply run a bath, grab my favorite products and wash my cares and negativity away. Now, when I perform my favorite beauty ritual, those precious ten or twenty minutes in my bathtub help me to cleanse and refresh my body and mind. It’s such an important part of who I am and how I cope with life’s ups and downs.
I particularly love to slow down and reassess my beauty ritual in the Spring. As new possibility blooms all around me, it’s a priority for me to take time and think about what is and what is not working in my life. Am I operating in stagnant patterns? Have I avoided facing my fears to accept a new challenge? Do my daily routines continue to work for me? It is a great time to shed your old skin (literally) so that growth can happen. My favorite spring ritual revolves around cleansing, exfoliation and nourishment and I can’t wait to share it with you next week. Stay tuned!
